DEFINITION

Interleukin-2 receptor subunit beta (551 aa, ~61 kDa) is encoded by the human IL2RB gene. This protein is involved in signal transduction-mediated by and receptor mediated endocytosis of interleukin-2.

DesignNote

This protein is the beta subunit of the interleukin 2 receptor and is a type I membrane protein. It is involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis and transduction of mitogenic signals from interleukin 2. It plays a role in the T cell mediated immune response and is a member of the cytokine receptor family.
